After a whirlwind couple of weeks, where the racers and their crews were racing on Sunday and then Wednesday, the NASCAR circuit returns to a more normal routine this week. There will be no Wednesday race, and the drivers will get back to their Sunday rituals, as this week’s stop takes them to the Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500.
Starting position was determined by random draw using owner points. Starting position is a huge factor in DFS points systems. With that being said, most of the top drivers are in the top starting spots on Sunday, so you’ll want to grab a couple of top drivers to get points for lap leaders, and hopefully a victory as well. You’ll also want to find the sleepers starting towards the back that can gain ground throughout the race and have a good finish so you’ll earn those differential points.
Here are some drivers who are a good bet to earn you fantasy points on Sunday at the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500.
Jimmie Johnson – $10,200
What has Jimmie Johnson done this season to deserve such a high salary? Well , he does have five career victories at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. He has also finished in the top-five on 14 different occasions. 2018 and 2019 weren’t good to Johnson, but in his last season, he has seemed to regain some of his old form, and he will look to take one last checkered flag at Atlanta.
Kurt Busch – $9,400
Kurt Busch is starting 12th on Sunday, so there could be some points to grab there if he moves up in the pack. Busch has three career victories at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. With eight top-10 finishes in his last 10 starts here, Busch looks like a good play on Sunday.
Brad Keselowski – $8,900
Keselowski is the defending champ at the QuikTrip 500. He has always raced well here, and he is on a roll as of late, so what’s not to like about Keselowski? . He has two victories, along with five straight top-10 finishes at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Michael McDowell – $5,200
Is McDowell going to win the race on Sunday? Probably not, but with his pricing, he should gain you valuable points for a low price. McDowell is starting in the 36th spot on Sunday. His average finish is 19th, so that gives you a great chance to earn some advancement points. At this price, McDowell is a bargain.
