We’re nearing the beginning of training camp, and soon after, the start of the NFL season. Today we’ll take a look at the best value for Super Bowl 56 wagers.
As with any futures bet for a championship winner, your last chance to place wagers on the outcome is before the start of the season. Now is the time to place your bets for the winner of Super Bowl 56.
Let’s break down some strong value picks.
Los Angeles Rams: +1200
The Rams have as good of a chance as anyone in the NFC to make a run at a Super Bowl. The big upgrade to the roster made this offseason was bringing in quarterback Matthew Stafford.
Stafford brings a massive increase in talent over Jared Goff, and with a strong offensive line and a deep set of playmakers, this Rams offense should hum.
Los Angeles owned an elite defense in 2020, with many statistical sites dubbing them the top overall defense in the league.
No player is more disruptive on the defensive end than Aaron Donald, and with Jalen Ramsey holding down the secondary, it’s tough for offenses to get going against the Rams. This team made the Super Bowl just a few seasons ago and maintained much of the core that got them there.
The one thing going against the Rams is the tough division they play in. But competition breeds success, and if the Rams can win the NFC West, they’ll be well-positioned to handle any test that comes their way.
Cleveland Browns: +1400
Cleveland has been gaining hype as a serious Super Bowl contender after a strong offseason of moves. The Browns had one of the best offenses in football in 2020, thanks to the top offensive line in the game.
Now, big additions to the defensive side of the ball, notably safety John Johnson and EDGE Jadaveon Clowney, are solidifying their lone vulnerability. With a stronger defense in tow, Cleveland seems poised to build on their 11-5 record from 2020, which was capped off with a playoff win in the Wild Card round.
The Browns have a lethal rushing attack led by Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, while Baker Mayfield has made smart decisions with the football.
At +1400, consider betting on Cleveland to bring a long-awaited Lombardi Trophy back to the city.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: +550
Not but certainly not least, we’ll end with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The defending champs have opened with the second-best odds to win Super Bowl LVI, behind the Kansas City Chiefs.
+550 is not an ideal value, normally, when placing a future, but the Buccaneers feel like a rare exception.
Tampa Bay has become the first team in the Super Bowl era to return all 22 starters from their championship lineup. Continuity like this is unprecedented in today’s NFL.
The fact the Bucs are bringing back everyone is reason enough to place a bet on them to repeat as Super Bowl champions. Tom Brady knows a thing or two about maintaining excellence, and Tampa Bay had an elite offense and defense in 2020.
There’s every reason to expect more of the same in 2021, especially in a weak NFC South division.
