Rounding out the preliminary card for the next UFC event is a battle to keep an eye on. This should help set the tone leading up to the main card.
The battle in question is the heavyweight showdown between Shamil Abdurakhimov and Chris Daukaus. These two have great knockout power and should make for an interesting showdown.

Shamil Abdurakhimov (20-5-0): Looking for a Rebound
Abdurakhimov is coming off of a second-round TKO loss against Curtis Blaydes back in September of 2019. This loss snapped his previous three-fight winning streak dating back to late 2017.
His fighting resume shows that he has nine wins by knockout, four by submission, and seven by decision. This resume appears to have some balance to it, making him a tough matchup.
“Abrek” has a striking accuracy of 44 percent and a grappling accuracy of 24 percent. He lands 2.45 significant strikes a minute while absorbing 2.45. With this being a one-to-one ratio, there is not much room for error.
Abdurakhimov has a takedown defense at 47 percent and a significant strike defense at 58 percent. He also averages 1.23 takedowns and 0.20 submissions every 15 minutes.
Chris Daukaus (11-3-0): Seeking a Fifth Straight Victory
Daukaus is currently on a four-fight winning streak heading into this one. His more recent performance was a first-round TKO against Alexey Oleinik back in February of this year.
His fighting resume shows that he has 10 wins by knockout and one by decision. In addition, eight of those knockouts have been first-round finishes.
He has some slightly inflated stats since he has three fights total under the UFC banner. Each one was also a first-round finish, with all the fights combined with just over five minutes of fight time.
He has a striking accuracy at 61 percent but nothing for a grappling accuracy. He lands 11.78 significant strikes a minute while taking on 3.22. Again, this ratio is a bit inflated.
Daukaus has a successful takedown defense at 100 percent and a significant strike defense at 65 percent. He does not yet have any averages for takedowns or submissions.

Both fighters have a great track record at finishing fights. However, Daukaus appears to be the better pick here.
Looking at what Daukaus has accomplished, he has been deadly on his feet with his ability to land strikes and heavy knockouts. Abdurakhimov will have his work cut out for him.
Overall, Daukaus looks like a solid choice here and to finish it early. Look for him to finish this one by some form of knockout.
