Our feature fight for Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series is going to be from the main event, between Harvey Park and Omar Morales. Currently, as of the date and time of this publication, BetOnline has Park as the -275 favorite with Morales +235. This fight is slated to take place at the UFC Apex and will consist of 3 x 5-minute rounds.
Harvey Park is the heavy favorite in this fight due to the fact that he has twice as many fights as Morales and has fought a much tougher level of opposition. Park is 12-2 overall and is riding a 3-fight win streak. Park has fought the likes of Bellator veterans Demarques Jackson and Jaleel Willis and also current UFC competitor Austin Hubbard.
Park is a complete finisher, with 11 of his 12 wins coming by way of finish. His two losses came against Hubbard, who is currently in the UFC, and Peter Stanonik, way back in 2015.
Morales is undefeated at 7-0 but he truly has been fed cupcakes. His last 3 opponents have a combined record of 4-3! Not really saying much for a fighter looking to get into the UFC. That being said, anyone and everyone that they have put in front of Morales, he has pretty much walked through. He has only gone to a decision one time and can finish opposition with devastating KO power or a strong submission game.
I've watched a lot of tape on Park and I'm a little confused on these odds. He really doesn't look that impressive to me. In all of the fights that I watched, he always seems to look off balanced. He seems to have a decent wrestling game but again, he is always off balanced and sort of has been the product of some very good luck. I wouldn't go crazy with this play but if you're looking for some action on the night, Morales is a great option and a strong dog.
Morales is a strong striker that appears to have much greater cage IQ and should be able to push the pace of this fight, earning the win and the contract from Dana White!
