If you think you are running out of betting opportunities, think again when looking at the next UFC event. In the prelims, you can check out a women’s bantamweight bout that is between Mayra Bueno Silva and Mara Romero Borella.

  • Date: Saturday, September 19, 4:00 PM
  • Venue: UFC Apex
  • Watch on: ESPN+

The Fighters

Mayra Bueno Silva (6-1-0)

Silva is coming off a decision loss back in March. Her fighting resume shows that she has 1 win by knockout, 3 by submission, and 1 by decision.

“Sheetara” has a striking accuracy at 54 percent and nothing for grappling accuracy. She lands 4.87 significant strikes a minute while absorbing 7.26. This ratio is slightly inflated, however, she was greatly outstriked in her last fight to make this look that way.

Silva has a takedown defense at 75 percent and a significant strike defense at 44 percent. She also averages 1.40 submissions per 15 minutes of fight time.

Mara Romero Borella (12-8-0)

Borella is currently on a 3 fight skid, and losing 4 out of her last 5 fights. Her fighting resume shows that she has 3 wins by knockout, 4 by submission, and 4 by decision.

“Maravilla” has a striking accuracy at 37 percent and a grappling accuracy at 43 percent. She lands 2.54 significant strikes per minute and absorbs 2.54 per minute. This is a 1 to 1 ratio here.

Borella has a takedown defense at 66 percent and a significant strike defense at 71 percent. She also averages 1.66 takedowns and 0.20 submissions every 15 minutes.

Odds For This Event

Potential Winning Pick

Both of these fighters have some interesting matchups with their resumes. With that being said, can their odds be justified here?

On paper, Borella appears to have the better resume when it comes to her stats. However, she has been in quite a rough stretch being unable to close out fights and stuck in a losing streak.

Silva has some solid numbers on both sides. She is coming off a very rough decision loss, but she made it through to the end despite being heavily outstriked. I still like her chances here for a victory.
