UFC Fight Night 134 Handicapping Tips and Betting Picks
UFC Fight Night 134
Where/Venue: Barclaycard Arena
Where/Location: Hamburg, Germany
When: Sunday, July 22, 2018, at 2:00 PM
The UFC will head back overseas this week for UFC Fight Night 134. UFC Fight Night 134 will be coming to us from the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany. The one thing to remember about this card is it will take place on Sunday afternoon, not on Saturday. This card will feature some really good fights and will be headlined by Anthony “Lionheart” Smith taking on Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in the Main Event. The Co-Main Event is also another banger where we will see Glover Teixeira taking on Corey Anderson.
Before we get into the card and our handicapping, let’s talk about last week. We had a HUGE week in MMA last week, going 6-1 overall between four-fight cards. We cashed all three of our UFC Fight Night 133 plays, winning on Said Nurmagomedov for 3 units, Chad Mendes for 2 units and Niko Price as an underdog for 2 units. This week, we are looking to carry over the momentum and cash some winners at UFC Fight Night 134. Let’s not waste any time this week and jump right in for some winners!

UFC Fight Night 134 Handicapping
The feature fight of UFC Fight Night 134 for us here at the Spooky Express is in the Lightweight Division between Marc Diakiese vs. Nasrat Haqparast. This fight is slated for three, five-minute rounds and will be on the main card.
Marc Diakiese is 12-2 overall and is 3-2 in the UFC. Diakiese is riding a two-fight losing streak against Daniel Hooker and Drakkar Klose. Both of those opponents are very tough and have gone on to go 3-1 since they fought Diakiese. Diakiese is a talented striker that will look to get out to a quick start in the fight like he did early in his UFC career. When Diakiese came into the UFC, he was one of the highest prospects at 155 LBS, and was undefeated 9-0 and is going to be looking to get back on the winning track against Haqparast.
Nasrat Haqparast is 8-2 overall and 0-1 in the UFC. Haqparast made his UFC debut on short notice back at UFC Fight Night 118 in Poland. He lost a three-round battle with Marcin Held, who has since been released from the UFC. Held entered the UFC as a former Bellator top prospect and jiu-jitsu world champion. Unfortunately, Held went 1-3 in the UFC and is no longer with the promotion. Now, Haqparast gets a second chance, as sort of a thank you for taking the short notice fight, but it is against a tough opponent in Diakiese.
Diakiese is by far the superior striker in this fight and I think should make short work of Haqparast. Haqparast is fighting in front of his home crowd but it won’t help him in there with a veteran like Diakiese. This will be a 3.5 unit play over at BetMania for -190 on Marc Diakiese.
Additional UFC Fight Night 134 Plays
Stefan Struve +200 at BetMania for 2 units – This fight is very interesting to me. Both Stefan Struve and Marcin Tybura are coming into this fight off back to back losses. Struve lost to Andrei Arlovski and Alexander Volkov, while Tybura has lost to Derrick Lewis and Fabricio Werdum. Here is the issue I have…..Marcin Tybura has absolutely NO cardio and NO gas tank! By the second round, his mouth will be open and he will be gasping for air. Struve, on the other hand, has a decent gas tank and will pace himself in the fight. Struve will have a major height advantage and I think he will win the fight late in the second round, by TKO.
Aleksander Rakic -120 at BetMania for 1.5 units – Justin Ledet has gone undefeated at Heavyweight and is 9-0 in his career. He is 3-0 in the UFC and will now be making the weight cut down to Light Heavyweight for this fight. He will face Aleksander Rakic, who made his UFC debut back at UFC Fight Night 115, against Francimar Barroso, and won a unanimous decision. Ledet has a tendency of standing up very straight, like a boxer. I’ve always said if he ever faces a tall fighter that has a wrestling base, he is going to struggle. Rakic should be able to control this fight and get the win over Ledet.
