The Fighters

Gavin Tucker (11-1-0)

Tucker has been great so far in the featherweight division. His fighting resume shows that he has 4 wins by knockout, 5 by submission, and 2 by decision.

“Guv’nor” has a striking accuracy at 32 percent and a grappling accuracy at 20 percent. He lands 2.60 significant strikes a minute while absorbing 5.07. This ratio is largely on the negative side, as he takes on more hits than he delivers.

Tucker has a takedown defense at 43 percent and a significant strike defense at 53 percent. He also averages both 0.50 takedowns and submissions every 15 minutes.

Justin Jaynes (16-4-0)

Jaynes has had success early in the featherweight division. His fighting resume shows that he has 8 wins by knockout, 3 by decision, and 5 by submission.

“The Guitar Hero” does not have a lot of UFC stats to go by since his octagon debut was June of 2020. He did however win that fight in the first round in 41 seconds.

In that fight, he had a striking accuracy at 55 percent and a striking defense at 73 percent. Most of his victories, other tha decisions, have resulted in first round bouts going his way.

Odds For This Event

The market has been quite steady with their opinion on this fight. BetOnline has the odds currently placed at:

Tucker: -135

Jaynes: +115

*odds are subject to changes

Potential Winning Pick

Both of these fighters have been able to win often and early in their bouts. Do these odds represent this fight well or can an upset take place?

Tucker has been able to claim victories with only one loss. However, his stats have to catch up with him at some point. His defense is not the best and his offense is arguably worse.

This will be Jaynes second fight in the octagon and he tastes blood. I believe you see him fighting for his shot to stay in the UFC and let people know who he is and what he is all about.
