UFC Fight Night Florida Betting Picks – Anthony Hernandez vs Kevin Holland – Saturday, May 16, 2020

by Tyler Vaysman | May 14, 2020 |

A middleweight showdown is headed your way that you do not want to miss in the fight card for Overeem vs Harris. That particular bout will be featuring a battle between Kevin Holland and Anthony Hernandez.

The Fighters

Kevin Holland (17-5-0)

Holland has built himself a nice resume. He is currently on a three fight win streak, has seven wins by knockout, and six wins by submission.

“TrailBlazer” has a high striking accuracy at 64 percent and a grappling accuracy of 67 percent. He lands 4.11 significant strikes a minute and absorbs 3.45. This is a great advantage if he can keep improving on that ratio.

He also averages 2.04 takedowns and 1.70 submissions every 15 minutes. He also has a significant strike defense at 60 percent and a takedown defense of 50 percent.

Anthony Hernandez (7-1-0)

It seems just yesterday that Hernandez made his debut. He has two wins by knockout, four by submission, and one by decision.

“Fluffy” has a striking accuracy at 49 percent and nothing to show for a grappling accuracy. He lands 2.78 significant strikes a minute while absorbing 2.94. This ratio is nearly one and one, so nothing too worrisome here.

He has a high takedown defense sitting at 86 percent and a significant strike defense at 54 percent. His fight times average around 6:07 minutes.

Odds For This Event

The market views these two fighters as close as it gets. BetDSI has these odds currently placed at:

Holland: -110

Hernandez:-110

Potential Winning Pick

Both of these fighters have had great success and it will be a great opportunity to watch an exciting fight. With that being said, we have to have only one winner and the stats could present an opportunity to look for.

Hernandez has a high takedown defense and a decent significant strike ratio. He tends to fight more in the clinch so he could keep Holland close to deliver big hits.

Holland has all of the positives for a good, quality fighter. The only drawback is that he has a low takedown defense and could be vulnerable if the fight lasts longer than a few rounds with constant ground attempts.

Overall, I am excited at this fight for the fact that it will be a lot of fast paced action. I would have to go with Holland here, since he has more experience and hopefully the numbers do not lie.
